Denis Waitley says the results we get in life are directly related to the efforts we put in. It might seem obvious, but it’s easy to overlook in situations where we need to give our best. This may be the case with people who need to work and study at the same time.
It is not easy to work and study at the same time. Therefore, to get good results, we have to be realistic. It is not impossible, but we must be aware of the difficulty. Excessive effort can sometimes limit our abilities.
Viewing things calmly is therefore not a bad idea. You don’t have to be the first in the class, the first in your job and, moreover, complete your studies in a few years. If you need help or are looking for a happy medium, don’t overthink it. Moving forward slowly in both areas can be a great way to feel good, manage stress, and achieve your goals.
Let’s not be fooled: combining these two activities can be extremely complicated. In addition to maximizing your personal efforts, there are a few keys you will need to know how to do better. We are now going to give you four. Are you ready?
1. Make the most of the time you have
The first key to working and studying at the same time is to make the most of your time. To achieve this, you are going to have to make some sacrifices; for example, avoiding certain distractions.
Since you are going to have less time for your work, your studies and for yourself, you have to make the most of every minute. When you study, forget about your phone, social media, internet, TV, etc. It is essential that you make the most of your time.
At work, try to complete all the tasks you have to do. Do not bring anything home: this will prevent you from having to accumulate work. This point is recommended in your work and in your studies.
And, of course, try to make the most of every free second you have left. Don’t feel guilty about taking breaks. After working and studying at the same time, you have deserved them.
2. Get organized
This is a key which is linked to the one we have just mentioned. If you want to work and study at the same time, you need to be optimally organized so that your tasks do not get mixed up. To achieve your goals, you will need to know where one activity ends and the next one begins.
It pays to be organized at work and at home. Gather everything related to your job in one space and everything related to your studies in another. It may sound obvious, but it doesn’t have to be. You will see, this point will be very useful to you: your ideas will be much clearer and organized.
3. Learn to delegate
When you have to perform a large number of tasks, delegation of work is essential. You will need to trust your colleagues and give them a particularly complex job (if possible) to divide it up among them. Do not try to do too much because in the end you will not succeed.
The same thing happens with your studies: if you have to do a group work, do not hesitate and trust your comrades. But be careful, it’s not about giving them everything either. Just use common sense. Work as much as you can, but never go beyond your real possibilities. And don’t go below them either.
4. Keep an active lifestyle
Obviously, if you are very busy, it will be more difficult for you to exercise. However, maintaining physical activity and a healthy lifestyle is essential to getting the most out of your time. For example, you can achieve this by exercising a few times a week: your mind will be aired and you will be in good physical shape.
In addition, you should know that your diet is essential. Eat as healthily as possible. Set aside some time to cook. Cooking a chicken thigh, a salmon fillet or slicing a tomato doesn’t require a lot of time or cooking experience. But it can make a big difference in your energy and mood.
Finally, of course, sleep well. Rest is the basis of a healthy life. If possible, get at least seven hours of sleep per night. If you organize yourself properly, you will probably be able to do this and see all the benefits of good sleep.
If you follow these four keys, you will be able to work and study at the same time without too much trouble. We are confident that you will get there. Courage!
